Wooden birdhouses containing video projections of various sky shots are installed inside the gallery. The projections are visible through lenses on the front sides of the birdhouses. The lenses distort the sky images, giving them new depth and width.

Surreal sight of the open sky stuck inside of the small, hermetically closed birdhouses emphasises the contrast of the wide and unlimited spaces, as opposed to the confined and material.

'Opreka zatvorenog prostora čija se nutrina rastvara u projekciji otvorenog neba i virtualnog prostora slobode ne iscrpljuje se samo u suprotnostima skučenog i neograničenog, ili sirove, jednostavne drvene površine i formalno razigranog plesa oblaka na pokretnoj slici, već na minijaturnoj skali gotovo da ponavlja neke zadatosti galerijskog prostora. Crna se kutija učahurila u bijeloj kocki, mikrirala kao objekt, i - poput optičke zamke, čeka da zarobi i vaš pogled.' (Jasna Jakšić)

'An opposition to the enclosed space whose interior dissolves with the projection of open skies and virtual space of freedom does not get exhausted only by contrasting the confined and infinite, or simple, raw, wooden surface and formally playful dance of clouds on a moving image, but on a miniature scale, it almost repeats some of the given forms of gallery space. The black cube is cocooned in the white cube, as a micro object, and – like a true optical illusion, waits patiently to capture your gaze as well.’ (Jasna Jakšić)

Marijana Stanić was born in Zagreb, 1971. Graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Art Education – Sculpture, in the class of Prof. M. Vuco. She is a member of '90-60-90' art organisation and HDLU. She is a Visual Arts teacher, 'Galerija 90 60 90' project leader and participates in CLUBTURE ( Klubtura Association of Organisations). She had a number of solo and group exhibitions. Lives and works in Zagreb.
